The International Flamenco Dance Company Barcelona Flamenco Ballet, under the direction of David Gutiérrez, presents this upcoming TOUR 2020/2021 with a new show entitled Luxurĭa.
Lust comes from the Latin Luxurĭa. The society in which we live today relates the word lust to unlimited sexual desire, which is why it is repudiated according to our moral principles.
Perhaps lust should not be linked only to immoral sexual intercourse, but also to excessive luxury, exuberance in the stimulation of our senses and ambition that corrupts our behavior without the control of our mind. Therefore, lust is the indication of abusive behavior that involves situations that put people's health and lives at risk. On this path, religions such as Catholicism have come to condemn lust as one of the seven deadly sins, for being powerful, seductive, selfish and opposed to married love.
It enters through our senses and intertwines in the mind until it corrupts the heart, chaining the spirit. Lust brings with it loneliness, insecurity and emptiness.
With our show "LUXURÏA" we tell the story of a successful and successful artist who captures the eyes of all women. At a night party with a simple glance you will meet the love of your life. Lust ends up being his worst enemy, separating him from love and entering him into a dark world of madness, ambition and loneliness.

David Gutiérrez, after his worldwide success as the protagonist and creator of his previous shows "New Time" and "Trapped in Time", is consolidated with this third risk proposal thanks to his own, avant-garde and pioneering label that will not leave the public indifferent .
Within the framework of modern flamenco, we present a groundbreaking and versatile show, a bet that vindicates both traditional and innovative flamenco. Contemporary, modern, Spanish and flamenco dance merge into classical, jazz and flamenco music, forming a suggestive staging together with a great cast of established artists from our land.
It stands out for its sober, elegant and modern wardrobe. A proposal that continues to make a difference and which confronts as a new stage of flamenco typical of the 21st century.

A story marked by three phases in which the show takes place. A constant struggle on a successful professional journey that suddenly seems to fade away.
Recovered the illusion for his dream from love, again the lack of love turns everything into something painful.
Broken and deceived, this period of struggle drives him to create, experiment and innovate in dance and flamenco, coming to the conviction of demonstrating his strength and passion, reaching a "New Time".

A production by bailaor David Gutiérrez, a commercial and innovative show that marks a new concept in flamenco from tradition and current music.
A dance body that accompanies the bailaor in much of the show manages to give a new air by merging jazz and contemporary with flamenco.
A fundamental piece of 'New Time' is its cast of nine musicians, who with new melodies and compositions, give this show a new musical essence. All of them make up a new concept that preserves tradition and creates a 'New Time' in flamenco.
